Lots to unpack in the latest filing on FL Oath Keeper, Army Veteran, and Jan 6 insurrectionist Kenneth Harrelson. Some potential insights into how the organization's highest levels viewed their efforts on Jan 6, & how they may plan to move forward. 1/5

Harrelson ("Gator 6") allegedly in charge of coordinating and managing other Oath Keeper ground teams, & w/ stashing weapons for the "Quick Reaction Force" at a hotel in VA. Veterans often assume leadership roles in DVE org.'s like the Oath Keepers, not surprising here. 2/5
Other evidence that multiple Oath Keepers, including Harrelson, were dissatisfied w/ how the Jan 6 op. was run. Likely that many trying to distance themselves in the face of criminal charges, but still impt takeaways for org. cohesion going forward 3/5
Perhaps most interesting is the exchange b/w Harrelson and Oath Keeper leader and founder Stewart Rhodes. Harrelson apologizes for poorly handling others under his command, and Rhodes responds: "I'm going to tighten up the command and control and the discipline in this org...
...even if it means losing some people. So be it."
We've got a new report out @gwupoe @CTCWP @Dr_DMilton that looks at the roles that veterans like Harrelson play, and offer some thoughts on countering extremism in the military. Check it out here: https://extremism.gwu.edu/sites/g/files/zaxdzs2191/f/This_is_War.pdf
