We were on vacation so I didn& #39;t get to tweet thread my thoughts on the 3/31 @CloudAcctPod episode.
But here are my thoughts on the 4/8 ep.
If accounting entrepreneurs don& #39;t listen to anything else, you must catch @BlakeTOliver& #39;s discussion of his old pricing matrix.

First, congrats to @BlakeTOliver and @davidleary on all the reviews they shared. I hadn& #39;t heard any for a while and it was great for y& #39;all to take a moment to revel in the praises people have given y& #39;all.
Y& #39;all really do a great job!

Regarding the particular review from "Angie", she doesn& #39;t need CAP branded HEADPHONES to increase her nerd factor. She needs one of @davidleary& #39;s @CloudAcctPod FANNY PACKS.
Who of David& #39;s friends has a picture of that beautiful accessory?

Alright. Minute 10:10 @BlakeTOliver gives a detailed explanation of his pricing when he had his own firm. It was based on % of EXPENSES. I& #39;d heard of trans volume and % of revenue. First I& #39;ve heard of using expenses to figure pricing.
His argument is compelling.

Wanna know how I price? I sort of start with a calculator I have, BUT REALLY, my main pricing goal is to make each new client bring in more $ per unit of my time than the client before.
I don& #39;t charge hourly, but ultimately we all earn some $ amount per unit of our time.

@BlakeTOliver charged $500 set up fee for a new @Xero user! And that was many years ago.
I& #39;m motivated to increase my prices on that one.
Set up is not hard, but I guess it can intimidate a biz owner that has never used an acct software?
Who else will raise their prices?

@davidleary has a link for an FAQ for a workaround to use @MelioPayments to avoid the new @QuickBooks ACH fees for accounting firms.
@davidleary what is the link?

They deep dive into the @PilotHQ funding announcement. I& #39;d LOVE to know how formal their referral program is since that is how they say they are building their client base (vs ads).
Wish I could peak under that hood of that part of this disruptive accounting company.

And @PilotHQ & @JeffBezos, if you are looking for qualified part-time help to be on your growing accounting staff, boy do I have the community to recruit in. I just helped place 60+ accountants who desired flexible work arrangements with the QuickBooks Live jobs @IntuitAccts.

Thinking w/ my former econ TA hat on:
If @PilotHQ (aka Jeff Bezos) uses @QuickBooks
and
@IntuitAccts uses Amazon Web Services
THEN
that might be a Game Theory situation where both parties are incentivized to cooperate instead of try to squeeze each other.
End thread.
