I am moving to the ova , which is a reliable source since Isayma took part in making it and even forshadowed the ending. But if you are not interested in this part, move to the other tweets.
Mikasa never had the chance to meet any kid, was happy in her comfort place , and -

Her character, at first, was a just this. A girl who enjoys the simple moments in her calm life and refuses to even have new friends z until comes Eren to change her life and give her a life lesson about Freedom, just like how Ymir did to Historia. Yet I don't see anyone -
Reducing Historia to Ymir's love interest, because, what matters isn't the person but the lesson and the impact and the character progression. So Mikasa slowely let go her fear and finds beauty in the outside world too, learning about freedom and how to live a prideful life not-
And not submitting to anyone. Because this is what Freedom is. Going against your desires and having your own choices, not letting anyone controlling you.
So here we are done with the summary of the first stage of Mikasa's character, and now we move to what happened in the -

Actual manga. The day Mikasa was kidnapped, and her parents were killed she couldn't even process what happened due because she was trapped in her own beautiful bubble. Suddenly her world turned upside down, from beautiful to cruel. And that's the next stage of her first ch. Dev.

Two ( pride and duty and love). So here we just whitnessed Mikasa's first ch. Devellopement. Now we are move to the second.
PART 2 : accepting that the beauty of het world is gone but still fighting the cruelty with pride.

When her Last family member dies, The beauty is -
Suddenly gone from her life. What remains is the cruelty. Yet, she's strong enough to fight and choose her duty and her pride to keep living and fighting
She motivates her friend to do the same, not to give up and not forgetting their duty even if there's no beauty anymore.

"simping" that everyone hates her for is important to the story.
PART 4 : We move to timeskip, Mikasa's character development n°3, but here it's about breaking from her obsessive love to fight for her pride and morals.
Chapter 112 was necessary to take Mikasa out of her -

Beautiful bubble again and realize she has pride. Against the rumbling, she chooses duty over love andw morals over love, and decides to fight her last family member to protect People.

Stop the slaughterer. Here, she is still refusing to kill him , but points out that she 'ld ratter stop h instead of letting him kill People even tho it was neverw her duty to protect anything other than het family and the island.
In Chapter 123, Mikasa get more devellopement-

By realizing the true identity of eren, and his dark side, but the most important thing is that she kept loving him even after that. That's why Mikasa's feelings arw important and that's what is true unconditional love, so she wants to share the burden with him but it's impossib.

It adds nothing to her character, a kill resulting from hate isn't strength, what strength is, Killing your loved ones for a noble cause even when you are crazy in love with them.
In Chapter 138, Mikasa is dragged to paths thanks to Eren where they are having a path talk-

By then, Eren didn't know what Mikasa was going to do, but he knew his final moments were near so he had to confess before dying, even tho his way of keeping on moving forward is trying to fight his fate and achieve his Freedom by continuing the rumbling.

Pride and her morals but at thd same time say loud that she is free to stick to the beauty of her world, to not forget about the good moments even after her sacrifice. It's an absolute choice that expresses mental strength and strong personnality.
The reason she was chosen by-

Ymir is that she's the definition of pure unconditional love in this story.
Mikasa commits a selfless act, sacrifice the beauty world and her happiness for the sake of others even if it means mentally destroying her.
She breaks Ymir's curse with her choice, not an order.

I reached tweet limits, but the thread is in continuation

Mikasa's Character arc Conclusion fits her quote and philosophy. The world she choose is cruel after killing and erasing what is left of beauty in it. Yet, she keep showing good emotions like smiles and everything. Her moorning Eren -
Destroy her character at all. Because her arc wa never about forgetting him. It's not feelings that define a person but acts. And it's Mikasa's selfless act that made her have have this. It was also a comparaison of hiw happy the rest of Alliance is, after she sacrificed her-
Happiness for their own happiness.
Conclusion : Mikasa isn't a women we can relate to in rl because it's bad to define your whole happiness about a man , but she reached this stage because of trauma.
She is not a feminism figure but she's far from being bad written

She is not a feminism figure but she's far from being bad written

- Cathy Earnshaw, Jane Eyre, Elizabeth Beneth, Juliet and Anna Karenina are Characters centered around crazy obsessive love, yet they are-
The most well written women in littérature , next to feminism figures like Anne,Mathilda, Mary Poppins, and other feminism figures. Yet being wekl written doesn't necessarily means being a feminist figure.
I personally prefer , as a feminist, women written as feminist figures-

But saying that women written for love lack depht/ are one dimentional/ bad written, is just pure disrespect to the most talented writors like Shakespeare, Charlotte and Emily Bronte and Jane Austen.
You cam dislike them like you want, but saying they are bad written is wrong.

THIS IS a general take on Mikasa's charcater writing and depht , I didn't want to post details but that's it. Feel free to ask what you want in the comments. But please be respectful .
