... Those demands have not been met. There is so much work still to be done. Perhaps the system we called 'not fit for purpose' can never be made fit. If the goal is to end abuse & violence driven by misogyny we need to have a vision that goes beyond what this system offers. 2/
What does accountability really look like for men who treat women this way? Paddy Jackson reportedly earns £500k per season playing for London Irish. Getting sacked by the IRFU certainly didn't ruin his life. Les Kiss & Declan Kidney kept a seat warm for him. 3/
Stuart Olding has spent the last 3yrs earning €12k per month at French side Brive with press reports telling us he is a favourite with the fans & loves his life in France. Well you would with over £100k a year to cushion the blow of losing your last job. 4/
So whatever the next steps in our fight against systemic misogyny & all the violence it gives rise to, let's not pretend the power imbalance has shifted much, if at all. Meanwhile there are millions of victims quietly doing all they can to rebuild their lives & find freedom. 5/
Our solidarity must continue until we see real change for everyone.

Finally, our thoughts are with the family & friends of Pat Mcparland in the video above who spoke at the rally & sadly passed away in 2019. She was proud to use her voice that evening. 6/
