a thread on pansexuality and some things that are misinterpreted :)

please share
this is the text book definition of pansexual.

"of, relating to, or characterized by sexual or romantic attraction that is not limited to people of a particular gender identity or sexual orientation"

this is partially correct.
being pansexual means that you are attracted to people because of your view on them as a human being. it doesn't matter if they identify as female, male, both, neither or anything in-between! however this doesn't mean pansexuals can't have a preference.
for example.
if i am a cis straight female i may have a preference of guys with blue eyes and brown hair. however if a guy comes along and he has blonde hair and green eyes i can still fall head over heels for him.
just because he doesnt have blue eyes or brown hair that doesnt make it a deal breaker.
yes some pansexuals identify as 'gender blind' and thats perfectly okay! but some of us have a preference which if compared to straight people could also be called a 'type'.
example.
i could have a preference for people who identify as male. not because they have a penis but because they IDENTIFY as male. preferences can change.
preferences are not limitations. i could go ahead and date someone who identified as female and still have a preference of men and still be pansexua;

okay. next topic.
pansexuals ARE NOT bisexuals

pansexuals like ALL genders
bisexuals like MULTIPLE

'all' and 'multiple' are not the same thing.
example.
'i like every single animal' (all)
'i like cats and dogs' (multiple)

if you are saying you only like cats and dogs that is not every animal but it is more than one making it MULTIPLE.
please dont call a pansexual bisexual or biphobic (unless the person is).
