1) Interpretation of the Psalms. Some folks read them from an entirely devotional perspective (they were meant to be sung!) and that's ok. Some use spiritualization with the impreccatory Psalms to make them relevant in our Christian dispensation. We may apply them this way but
2) ONLY after we have interpreted them (the above are not interpretations) and as with all the Scriptures they must be first be understood literally--the Psalms are highly prophetic. They reveal the sufferings of Christ and the glories which follow. The coming of Antichrist,
3) the afflictions of a future faithful Jewish remnant and the blessings of the millennial earth. Take Psalm 98 and this will be seen. In v. 3 the blessing upon the nations follows the conversion of Israel. Today it is their unbelief that has opened the door of salvation to us
4) Gentiles. See Rom. 11:12. Then their conversion (not their unbelief) will be "as life from the dead" for the nations. See Ps. 98:9 = The coming of Christ to judge the earth (not the judgment of the dead but the judgment of the living) and cf with Acts 10:42; 17:32; 2 Tim. 4:1.
