I see people talking about Efsun being thirsty for revenge and how it’s all she cares about. Efsun is not someone who is blinded by hatred or grudges now, she is someone looking for peace. To have that, she feels the need to settle some scores as she said to Yamaç.
Two people. Sultan and Kulkan. Some are acting as if she wants to take revenge on all of Turkey. She told Yamaç that she already felt better after getting back at Sultan. Now, she needs to confront Kulkan to have closure, to be herself again. All the traces of Simay will be gone.
Everyone has a different way of dealing with trauma and this is hers. Some find peace by forgiving, others by taking revenge. She doesn’t have to handle it like Yamaç or to move on just because she has her family and is safe now. If that’s not enough for her, it’s not shameful.
Yamaç wouldn’t have accepted if he hadn’t understood her. He realised how badly she needed that. He understands her, he knows her. He always has. The line “Do you want Efsun?” wasn’t written for nothing. If she were never going to be the old Efsun again, why would she say that?
This torture chapter ends with Kulkan’s death. Simay dies after Kullan’s death. Efsun Kent is still in her, she still loves Yamaç and cares about him. She will stand by his side in this war and she won’t stay like she is now until the end.
We already knew she would be there when Kulkan dies and that she would want revenge after everything that happened to her, so I don’t understand why it’s such a shock for many.
With all due respect, most Çukur fans rarely get anything right and most theories were wrong so it would be best if everyone stopped overanalysing and just enjoyed what we have left.
