Brandon believes that to promote advocacy efforts, the sector needs to focus on two key facts:
1 There are 1.1 billion people living with vision impairment of blindness that could have been prevented
2 This number will double by 2050 without urgent action

Brandon concluded that the 4 key concepts around eye health advocacy are:
Eye health needs to be part of UHC; it needs to be integrated and people-centred; progress needs to be monitored against global progress; it needs to be part of the mainstream agenda to achieve SDGS
