“Digital artist” shut up, you’re an ARTIST. I do both traditional and digital art, these skill sets are very much related, in fact I found learning to draw on a tablet way more painful than on paper.
I saw someone trying to suggest that people who haven’t struggled with paints traditionally won’t understand color. Nonsense, if you don’t understand color your digital art will look just as bad as your painting. There’s no magic buttons to correct for artistic knowledge.
I can barely ink digitally to save my life but it’s way easier on paper 😂 you’re an individual and how your skill sets translate with your tools will vary but YOU are the artist, not your TOOLS. Not your brush, your tablet, your program, your ink of choice.
Get rid of the “digital” qualifier entirely and call yourself a damn artist. The only people who think it’s not real art don’t know enough about art for their opinion to matter.
Who are these mythical people who are prodigies in digital art that suddenly can’t draw when you hand them a fucking pencil? Seems to me that anyone who thinks that way doesn’t understand technology and has decided to make their incompetence a moral artistic standpoint.
Talent is talent, respect it or you’re an asshole. Technology is bad, fire scary, Thomas Edison was a witch
