Magic Johnson Crenshaw 15. one of those "you had to be there" LA experiences. the iconic movie posters inside. that fucking Magic Johnson preview! A gem that spotlighted Black cinema. the gentrification of this entire neighborhood is violent. a travesty.

the beloved Leo S. Bing Theatre at LACMA. the 1pm movies (4 bucks!) were everything. showcased unique #35mm films on the cheap - a rarity in LA. this thread doesn& #39;t do justice to how many theatres we& #39;ve lost in #LA. preservation barely exists here. I get the #Arclight was loved, I saw some great films there - but it was far from inclusive. working class ppl should be able to go to the movies. period. #ArclightCinemas
