was about to tweet about how ppl threw a fit about <.00001% chance of clotting w AZ vax meanwhile docs expect us to stay on antipsychs like seroquel even tho EVERYONE gets horrible side effects. and then google told me that AstroZ MADE SEROQUEL AND GOT SUED FOR $520M OVER IT?!
and the lawsuit was for off-label marketing towards depression and bp2 which is not what it was FDA approved for. meanwhile inpatient psychiatrists put every patient on seroquel, sometimes without consent, and don’t inform them of what the med even IS or the possible side effects
my first psych ward roomie kept waking up to food all over the room with no memory of eating it. and i was like “oh the seroquel munchies hah. just wait until it screws up your QT rhythms and you start fainting from hypotension” and she was like “HUH NO ONE MENTIONED THIS”
last week I was like “yo Dr. B, my feet swell up 30 min after I take seroquel, it blocks my nasal passage, EKGs are showing my QT rhythms are off, and i went into pre-syncope the other day” and he was like “huh. well as long as you’re sleeping! i just sent in ur refill”
anyways the original intent of this thread was to complain about how disabled ppl are expected to put up with side effects that are even worse than the original symptoms. meanwhile nondisabled can throw a fit over a 0.00001% chance of complication and be taken seriously.
