I'm marveling at Pictochat for the DS right now.
This entire OS is so playful, and *built for expression*.
Why aren't all computers like this?
I never had a DS before, so I'm discovering this and it's MASSIVELY validating.
Pictochat is built to *connect you with people around you* p2p INSTANTLY from the moment you turn the DS on.

IMAGINE THAT.
Because XR folks follow me, hot take: None of your "futures of computing" are worth it without this.
1. If you block me expressing myself *through your OS*, scrap everything and start over. Tech should make the world a canvas.

2. BUILD TECH THAT GETS PEOPLE OUTSIDE AND ENGAGING WITH EACHOTHER PLAYFULLY

Like DAMN...
Kinda wanna pictochat my classmates under the desk now.
Kinda wanna get on a plane, spend a flight vibing with other DS-havers.
Kinda wanna go to the park and draw pictures with other folks there.
When was the last time you had a computer that *made you want to go _outside_ and be in the world*

WTF
Was this a common reaction to the DS at the time?

Because this is the Good Ending of AR and it's throwing me for a loop that we might have *already had it*
There's no undo button, nor contact book. It's not a rolodex meets photoshop.
There's a button to pull down others' messages so you can remix doodle on them.
This is just, a location-based *group drawing* app.

It's a *toy* so engagment with it is *play* and that is *very human*
