how to not binge/fast effectively during ramadan: (tags for exposure) #edtwt #ed #binging #thinspothread #sweetspo #thinspo #meanspo
first off, ramadan is about seeking self control and repenting to Allah and to take care of ones body is an act of worship. by making this thread I am in no way trying to undermine the true meaning of this sacred month.
never skip suhoor. your body needs energy to keep you going before your fasting hours. the more nutrition you have in predawn, the least likely you will end up binge eating later.
soups are a very good food, and keep you full! however if you are calorie counting, cream soups may be high in calories.
remember to chew your food about 30-50 times to break it down easier for your stomach and help your brain believe you’re eating more than you actually are, thus satisfying those binge cravings.
stay hydrated. I know you cannot drink water in the daytime, but when it is eating hours it is key to weight loss. not only does it give more nutrients to your body but it reduces binge urges, as you’re making yourself full.
when it is time to break your fast at the iftar table, break it with something light. forget the fact that you’ve been fasting all day and eat with a smaller plate.
this is because your body is not used to dense meals when fasting, so overloading it with food can lead to your body only processing it all as fat. A smaller plate = smaller portions.
and since your body isn’t used to so much food, it is best to have another light meal 2 hours after iftar. this is to prevent late night binging and also is lighter on your stomach as it gives more time to process the food you ate.
however do not eat continuously after iftar. i know it very tempting but you did not fast a whole day just to do that at night. go to sleep earlier or pray tarawih instead!
during your meals keep distractions away like your phone and television, focus on what you’re eating. It leads to less consumption and more control.
when it comes to dessert, stay away from sugary beverages and processed sweets. stick to nuts, dried fruit, dates, lower cal sweets etc. quitting processed sugar will make you feel more energetic and lightweight in the long run, as it won’t be processed as fat.
ramadan mubarak and happy fasting you can do this and i pray for your health ☪️💖 (this is my first time making a thread like this gimme feedback pls <3)
