Why age ISN’T just a number (a thread)
First off, this thread isn’t targeting anyone in specific Ik some of y’all are gonna think that, but I’m just tired of seeing this bullshit argument used constantly over the past few years.
While age itself is represented by a number, the number itself means more. The number is a measurement of how long an individual has been alive, grown, and changed through their years.

Age is an important statistic used through various ways in life.
Age helps determine things such as laws, medicine, health, emotions, behaviors, physical build, mental functions, habits, and much more. It determines if someone’s body and mind are capable of making good decisions in situations they may not understand fully yet.
Every study involving age is important. Take medicine for example, when medicine is being tested on groups, they monitor the symptoms and effects on different age groups in order to try and determine the most common bodily reactions to that medicine, and what they need to improve
Same goes for things like laws. Age is used to determine things like how old you should be to drive or drink alcohol. This is important because it sets boundaries, which determine the ages that are mentally developed enough to do these activities.
Age isn’t just a number, it’s a statistic used for the well-being of the world. So when people use “age is just a number” as an excuse to do bad things on this site, just remember that it’s more than just a number, it’s a measurement on how developed one’s brain and body is.
And because of it being a measurement, it helps determine what ages are grown and developed enough to make certain decisions or do certain things. Chances are if you use “age is just a number” as an excuse, you’re defending something harmful towards someone not developed enough.
