Protesters marched in uptown NYC earlier today for #DaunteWright. Protesters tried to march on the George Washington Bridge but were met by a line of NYPD cops with batons. Protesters fearlessly broke through the 1st police line while chanting “You can’t stop the revolution!”
After #DaunteWright protesters in uptown NYC broke through the 1st cop line blocking them from the George Washington Bridge, there was another line of NYPD & Port Authority cops with an orange net used to corral crowds. Cops then began threatening to make arrests.
After #DaunteWright protesters in NYC broke through the 1st police line blocking them from marching on the George Washington Bridge earlier today, cops got into a shoving match with a line of protesters as they tried to break through the 2nd line of NYPD & Port Authority cops.
After Port Authority & NYPD cops with an orange crowd control net got into a back & forth shoving match with #DaunteWright protesters trying to march on the George Washington Bridge, more cops with helmets & batons arrived. Protesters then decided to leave to avoid a kettle.
Here’s just some of the many NYPD & Port Authority cops who showed up to block #DaunteWright protesters from marching on George Washington Bridge earlier today in NYC. Once the protesters decided to leave, there were already even more cops waiting for them on the streets.
Once the #DaunteWright protesters got back down to the streets from the George Washington Bridge earlier today, there were lots of NYPD vehicles with their lights flashing as well as lots of cops with helmets & batons on foot waiting for them. Protesters still continued on.
“A-C-A-B! All cops are bastards!” A small army of NYPD (& Port Authority) cops (many with helmets & batons ready) made sure to block #DaunteWright protesters from getting on to the George Washington Bridge earlier today.
After gathering in NYC’s Washington Heights earlier today, #DaunteWright protesters took to the streets, tried to march on the George Washington Bridge, got blocked by an army of cops, & then ended in front of (what used to be) the Audubon Ballroom (where Malcolm X was killed).
