Filipinos are suffering because of an incompetent and negligent government. They have been issuing quarantines without a clear plan. Hospitals are full and medical frontliners are all seeking for a concrete, and sensible action plan from the government. https://twitter.com/jenmacramos/status/1381740427863224321
The government’s messaging since the beginning of the pandemic has been very unclear, and deliberately so. They prioritized VIPs for swab tests at first. They chose to mobilize the military to reinforce the quarantine, but a lot of their rules didn’t make sense.
Not everyone got financial assistance. Even if everyone is affected by the lockdown / quarantine. A year later after these restrictions, to no one’s surprise, it’s getting worse. Numbers are rising because the government loosened the restrictions, in favor of the economy.
They didn’t close the borders. They continued to let people travel in and out. They even encouraged people to travel locally, even if the cases were still averaging to 2k a month. Now we’re at 10-15k daily.
There’s a huge chance that data is manipulated.
And not everyone has access to the tests cause the tests are not automatically free. And the tests are not cheap.
Imagine having to think about where to get money to feed yourself and your family, then thinking about where to get money to get yourself tested.
Luckily the OVP has been doing some initiatives, like the SWAB CABS, which brings it closer to the people. People who get tested get incentives too.

If only these will carried on in a larger scale. https://twitter.com/lenirobredo/status/1375794127497953280
More intitiatives are rolling out as we speak, and to support us, to support the Philippines, and the OVP who are more proactive in seeking for actual and concrete solutions, you may donate to the Kaya Natin! Movement:
