Normalize centering the voices of queer Christians on topics regarding queerness & Christianity.
The Catholic Church would do better in handling queerphobia and developing meaningful relationships with queer Catholics if they spent more time listening to us, amplifying our voices, and directing any changes with our leadership.
Too often the opinions, feelings, thoughts, etc. of actual queer Christians are pushed aside and ignored to make room to continue to platform cishet Christians and I’d argue majority of the times this ends badly lol.
So many people address this issue as an abstract.
So many people address this issue as an abstract.
But we are real people. Our lives, our faith, our being aren’t abstractions to argue about with philosophical/theological language.
LGBTQ+ people around the world are suffering. The Church, identifying w/Christ’s suffering, should be the first to help alleviate this suffering.

Rather, unfortunately, the opposite often is happening. Instead of recognizing our humanity, many are still seeking to dehumanize, demean, and demonize us simply for existing.
It’s not enough for us to live by Church teachings. So many Christians just have an issue w/queerness.

All this time spent arguing on Twitter about LGBTQ+ people and spent belittling us when I don’t know we could address the alarming rate of homelessness LGBTQ+ youth face (as a consequence of this rhetoric I should add) https://www.thetrevorproject.org/get-involved/trevor-advocacy/homelessness/
Or maybe we could start meaningful discussions on how we can address the LGBTQ+ mental health crisis: https://www.thetrevorproject.org/resources/preventing-suicide/facts-about-suicide/
We could also address the obstacles still in place that makes getting help after being abused difficult for LGBTQ+ individuals: https://www.thehotline.org/resources/abuse-in-lgbtq-communities/
But yet people still want to waste their times peering in and scrutinizing our lives, questioning out sexualities, questioning the authenticity of our faith?
Ridiculous. We can be better. We should be the solution not part of the problem.

LGBTQ+ discrimination is reality. LGBTQ+ people are hurting in so many ways, what I present only covers the US, in other countries the reality is far worse.
We need God’s merciful love and your companionship, not judgment and ostracization.

Anyway, this is just my personal reminder that “building bridges” requires work and time so everyone please just do your best to just love as God loves!
St. Joseph, pray for us!

In your charity, please take a moment to say a prayer for LGBTQ+ people around the world and the Church can recommit itself to helping lift up the lowly.
