Students in @AledoISD (my alma mater) were called slaves and were ‘traded’ in a group message game.
An email statement from @aledoisdsupt failed to call the kids actions ‘racist’ or acknowledge the depth of their actions. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/carter-in-the-classroom/students-of-color-slave-traded-by-other-students-in-online-game-at-aledo-school/2603399/%3ffbclid=IwAR1gYTA7JuYFX6xPqVewAs5pepm9mHKxUdeGTzDuASGaSoqlhM__nsJj4Io&">https://www.google.com/amp/s/www...

I am not surprised by this incident after spending 10 years in @AledoISD schools. This will be a thread of why.
@AledoISD has a history of ignoring the severity of students actions like the situation that began this thread. They offer generic punishments that do not educate students or prevent similar incidents from occurring.
I do not know the punishment these students were given but I doubt that it will educate them on why their actions were wrong or the degree of hurt such ‘games’ can cause.
