withholding food from yourself will not make you skinny
think about the additions to your plate first - make yourself eat the veggies first - have a glass of water before you even start your meal
eat slow and savor deliberately - stop when you feel full
focus on the habits surrounding food, not the actual food: for me, it’s forgetting to eat, working through lunch, eating too late, and eating in bed with a show on, replacing a real meal with a snack
and find new comforts/treats: I swapped fruit sorbet in for dairy ice cream, and chocolate covered fruits in for sour patches, green apple slices with peanut butter is better than chips, and making my own guac and pico is better than Tostitos queso con salsa
I will never give up cheese but I discovered oat milk - also buy fancy cheeses over synthetic
it’s the small things! low sodium ritz, lite mayo, light babybels, unsalted adobo, no salt added stocks - add your salt yourself
cook more and less takeout! it makes the biggest difference - learn to make the pastas you like at home! the steak! the stirfry!
