well, crap
this is like 90% of the reason that I have a blog, so eventually I can maybe like. arrange all the information and sources into some sort of coherent structure, which I can then share with other people.

my mom was asking me about how to roast pumpkin seeds, and I was like. I don't remember but I would honestly just look at a few blog posts to get a sense of typical cooking times/temperature and how much oil to use, then add whatever spices I want 🤷
I taught a friend to knit a couple years ago and I brought a bunch of different yarns with me so they could touch the different fibers

and it didn't occur to me until we were sharing this story with my friend's knitting guild that this is not a typical way to teach knitting
we started with a hat and I cast on and got it started and I was like, "look casting on is boring and it took me 48 hours to be able to do it, let's just skip to the fun part which is knitting. If you like it, then we'll worry about casting on."
