Hi! Here are some facts you can use if anyone tries to claim Julian Edelman is a Hall of Famer!
In 5 of his 12 seasons he wasn't targeted enough to qualify for a DVOA ranking, but at his peak, he ranked 32nd in 2013. That was also his top DYAR season. He ranked 22nd.
For receivers that played during his career from 2009 to 2020 with at least 400 receptions, Edelman ranks 55 out of 65 players in yards per target with 7.25. Of the 10 players with a lower Y/T, only 3 are WRs.
Of those three WRs, one is Larry Fitzgerald, who is dragged down by his most recent season. The othe rtwo are Michael Crabtree and Danny Amendola.
Edelman is just 49th in touchdowns in that time period, 47th in yards per game, and 53rd in Y/R. Again, out of 65 players.
But most damning, I think, is that for a guy on the other end of a bunch of short, easy Tom Brady passing, he's only 27th in catch%! Awful.
Golden Tate is way better than Julian Edelman as he is superior in any relevant statistical category. Do you consider Golden Tate a Hall of Famer? No? Huh, I wonder why.
