“all cops are b*stards” means “all cops are b*stards.” it doesn’t mean “all cops are b*stards except the ones who make good tweets about a sports team i like.”

every single cop is responsible for upholding the system that unjustly murders ppl, especially Black & Brown ppl.
ppl seem to think systems uphold themselves & are self-sustaining.

systems are acted out moment to moment. people have agency. cops have agency. the ones who choose to combat the existing system of policing are pushed out of the profession or they comply. but they have choices.
to be a cop in this country, you have to be racist or let your racist colleagues be racist

a cop was fired last summer after she posted a pic of a protest on IG with the caption “BLM.” chris dorner tried to call out LAPD. only good cops are the ones who decide to stop being cops
systems constrain and enable action.

actions shape, modify, combat, uphold, or maintain systems.

there are no good cops. there are just cops who uphold/maintain systems of policing or ex-cops who tried to combat or modify those systems.
the system/practices of policing have to be abolished. and absent that, it should be treated like every other social service has (unfairly) been treated: gut its funding so much that it becomes useless & we do away with police altogether. this shit is untenable.
