Do you ever sit in an exit row when flying? Do you respect the responsibility given to you for protecting safety of other passengers and crew? @Qantas @IATA 1/
Do you expect other passengers seated in an exit row will be sober enough to perform their duties? Do you expect airline crew to be responsible in their service of alcohol to all passengers but particularly those in an exit row? @Qantas @IATA @VirginAtlantic 2/
Do you consider serving 4 bottles of wine to a passenger in an exit row in under an hr responsible service of alcohol? Do you know how many flights are impacted by drunken passengers, either allowed to board intoxicated or served excessive amounts of alcohol mid flight? 3/
As a passenger have you been impacted, harassed, assaulted or just made uncomfortable because of a drunken passenger seated next to you on a flight and felt powerless? @Qantas @IATA 4/
Have you ever made a complaint to an airline and had your witness statement refuted outright and your claims dismissed without any right of recourse? @Qantas @IATA 5/
This has happened to me alone twice travelling @Qantas. Where is their #RSA policy? How do they manage the plethora of alcohol related incidents in their lounges and aircraft that can be found on online forums alone? I’m certainly not alone here. https://adf.org.au/insights/plane-drunk/ 6/
When a passenger is physically assaulted by another passenger who becomes intoxicated due to irresponsible service of alcohol by flight crew, why do they remain voiceless @Qantas and why is #victimblaming your remedial approach? 7/
Passenger safety is your by-line. But you’ve failed your duty. What is your #RSA policy @Qantas ? How do your staff assess for intoxication and what additional guidelines are/should be in place for passengers in an exit row with a safety responsibility? @IATA . 8/
And finally (for now) @Qantas , why don’t you graciously, respectfully and diligently investigate complaints and support passengers who have been adversely impacted by the behaviour of others (staff and passengers)? Some empathy might have dampened my ire. Case # 04468040
