I should have restricted replies on this, but I will be very quick with blocking for any replies supporting this ridiculous, false, and extremely harmful mindset regarding literal cartoon characters.
I have lost good queer friends on this website over this garbage because so many people are buying into it
"Lost" as in, one day just noticed they& #39;d quietly unfollowed me, and knew from circumstantial stuff that the fact that I& #39;m not willing to sit by while new excuses for accusing queer people of being predators are spread and normalized, even among queer people.
It& #39;d be easy enough for me to stay out of this conversation as it doesn& #39;t affect me directly, but this shit is causing a great deal of harm, primarily to queer people, and I won& #39;t stay silent about that. And if someone wants to unfollow me for that, they weren& #39;t a friend anyway.
Has anyone coined a term for this, along the lines of the Satanic panic?
My first thought was "pedo panic" but I would really rather not see that word more frequently than I already have to
