@pathofexile PC Hardware Thread, and me hoping that 500$ will fix some of my issues:

A lot of my issues in POE come from Streaming + POE, which is a lot of strain on CPU. OBS is about 30% CPU, and a random t10 map is about 63% CPU with no conquerors, no delirium, etc. on my current pc. While I'm streaming, i'm about 95-100% CPU usage.

Current CPU is intel i5-6500 with 4 cores, which is 5 gens old. Current GPU I bought before covid (thank god) and has since 5x in cost, nvidia 2070 super.

So after discussing with people for a few days, I decided on upgrading CPU + a new mobo to accommodate the new cpu. Its not a Dual PC setup like a big streamer might use, but i think the upgrade is going to go a long way.

Will upgrade to a intel i9-10850 with 10 cores. about 350$, and the mobo upgrade (asus z490-a) is about another 250$. I am staying away from AMD intentionally because I hear *some* bad stories about AMD CPUs and POE. better safe than sorry?

Upgrading +4 generations of tech, and upgrading from 4 cores to 10 cores should be a big deal for streaming + playing POE. Hopefully this thread is useful to someone else out there who is making some PC upgrades <3
