In case you haven’t seen his face. Daunte Wright was shot yesterday, and the 2-3 minutes of body cam footage is available and easy to find. It’s heartbreaking and the whole situation is completely obvious from the footage, (1/4)

He was afraid, tried to get back into his car, which caused a police officer to (and this is what the officer claims) mistake her gun for her taser (which are on OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE UNIFORM), hold it up to him for 5-10 seconds while waving it around, and shoot him. (2/4)

She was apparently a “senior officer”, as well. These kinds of things are WHY people don’t feel safe around cops, even in scenarios where there should be NO FEAR OF DEATH, like getting pulled over for having... an air freshener in your car?? In this case. (3/4)
