Cops talking about airsoft stuff is nearly always a hoot
It's a TM (so plastic) AK with no real world variant officer sorry to tell you.
Generally cops in the UK don't give a monkeys about airsoft though provided you're not waving it about in such a way to cause a disturbance they treat it as a bit of fun.
I know one or two uni societies were told they had to get clearance from the police to start up and the police came down and went "oh, airsoft? yeah no we don't care just transport them in a bag"
Excuse me the fuck? it runs on triple AAA batteries?? I've never seen that in my life. It's not even really an airsoft gun for taking to the field it's for plinking stuff with in the back garden. Huh. I didn't know TM made those.
And the US variant? It look like this
Flash hider has been removed in this case, which is legal to do and there's actual practical reasons to do it in airsoft beyond trying to make it look like the real thing. It's a very silly law to require them to have that part be orange because it's over the threads.
UK airsoft guns look like this if you don't have a registration to say you're a regular airsoft player because it doesn't affect the workings AND it's more identifiable. The US system is silly as hell because I can't put anything on my barrel with an orange flashhider there.
I realise this thread is nerdy and i'm mostly talking to myself I just think it's funny that the cop is mad at the company for making a gun with an orange flash hider and not the way airsoft guns are required to be produced over there, because again, it's legal to remove it.
In most of the USA anyway. I think Cali has some different laws around it.
