I don't know who needs to hear this, but nobody confuses the feel of a taser and a sidearm. It's also standard now for the taser to be holstered crossdraw.

I was going to post an image to show how they're holstered, it might be more illuminating to Google image search it for yourself. Just type in "taser pistol belt". See if you can find an arrangement where you reasonably believe they could be confused.

Sometimes they're also worn on the chest, but that's even harder to confuse.

I try to always give the benefit of the doubt until I see everything. This statement gives me a really bad feeling. "I was scared and misjudged" would've sat better with me.

And before somebody says "nobody?" Yes, it's a generalization and hyperbole, but just do the image search.

I have theory on what happened that leads to it being not malicious, but still a failure of training and policy/failure to follow policy, but I'm not buying what I've heard thus far.
