Prometheus was a titan that had access to olympus. he saw how the gods were living and saw how the mortals weren’t thriving and decided to stream the eternal flame from Zeus and Olympus and gave man kind “fire”

by giving man fire, they started to thrive. they no longer needed to rely on the gods anymore. the gods didn’t have a purpose. they had fire they could cook, build, have a heat source, why would they need to pray to the gods anymore.

Zeus found that suspicious obviously and saw that man kind was thriving without them. he was upset, they depended on him before but now that they had a little material like that they were discarded in the blink of an eye.

I relate this to khaenri'ah in a way. Considering it was an independent nation with advance technology. I assume the gods didn’t understand why mortals didn’t have use of them anymore and didn’t want them to thrive like that.

relating back to Zeus it’s basically the same bc how could they say this when Demeter provided them with the knowledge to crop? or when Hestia and Hera taught them the deals of fertility and motherhood

during this time as well the humans began to compare themselves to gods and claimed that they were useless as well. now I’m not saying this could be a reason for what happened with khaenri'ah but it can’t be that far off
