Women control their own bodies - full stop. When O’Toole was trying to get the votes of anti-abortion activists during his leadership run, he promised them he would let his MPs introduce anti-abortion laws, and now this is exactly what has happened. 1/4
This week, O’Toole’s Conservatives will put forward another bill that is designed to limit a women’s right to choose - and it’s completely unacceptable. 2/4
I am disappointed that a major political party is still debating women’s control over their own bodies, and making it an electoral issue. But I’m also hopeful – hopeful because I know that there are far more of us who support a women’s right to choose than those who don’t. 3/4
Alongside a broad coalition of women, men, LGBTQ2, and Indigenous people across our country, we are continuing to build a fairer, more equitable, and more equal Canada - one where women’s right to basic healthcare isn’t a matter of debate. 4/4
