Experts were quick to declare the pandemic over, people were keen to move on. All the while other countries were registering millions of infections and hundreds of thousands of deaths

How confident does that make you that we will take infectious diseases seriously in the future?
The air is unbreathable. The water (when you can access it) is laced with pesticides or arsenic. Arable land is diminishing. Glaciers are melting. Shores are eroding.

And all we see is a handful of people screaming on TV all at once every night.
I am not blaming anyone. We are all overwhelmed and barely coping. But if we are always reacting and replying about what is happening now, we do not have time to think about next week (forget next year).
