Debunking the "Cp3effect"
(THREAD)
In this thread I'm going over not just this year but every year where the "Cp3effect" was in display (hornets all the way to now)
Starting with the hornets in 2005(the year before cp3 got drafted) the hornets best players that played the full season or atleast half were Lee Nailon and Dan Dickau.....no wonder they got better the next year
So if you're best players are those 2 dudes then there's absolutely no way you shouldn't improve the next year and even then he won 38 games and missed the playoffs so if you wanna count a 38 win season as some "Effect" then that's speaks to how overrated Chris Paul is
Now the clippers

The season before trading for Chris Paul they were a very young inexperienced (Best players were 21&22) team with injuries (4 rotational players missed more than half the season)

as they got healthy they werent bad their last 23 games they finished 12-11
So it was clear they were headed towards the right direction even before Chris Paul got there much like the current suns
Now that the clippers traded for cp3

Young Blake griffin continued to grow and get better drastically improving his efficiency from his rookie year same thing with DeAndre he continued to get better, they also got 2 veteran players Chauncey billups and Caron Butler
So for the clippers "EFFECT" he just came in as an extra big piece to help them win but then winning didn't have nearly all to do with cp3 it had just as much to do with it as signing 2 great veterans and having ur young stud turning into a an all-nba player so not Chris Paul....
"Rockets stop"

This is ridiculous that I even had to go over this one

The following year the rockets litteraly won 55 games so in 2018 they didn't just add Chris Paul they also added 3&D expert P.J Tucker who if anyone watched the games was a HUGE part in their success 1/2
So adding p.j Tucker who would take the pressure off of James harden defensively was huge, Clint capella also got alot better and James harden went to an MVP level with EG going to a 6MOTY level

It's clear Cp3 being there wasn't the reason they did so well...
Now for the Okc year this has to be the most Overrated accomplishment in the NBA.

I'm not wasting too much time on this but in 2020 they traded PG for Gallo and SGA(There 2 leading scorers) so it was a classic 2/1 deal which Normally helps out the other team

1/2
With that move they got a pure scorer in Gallo and a future ALLNBA player in shai And they also added Undrafted rookie lu dort who helped insanely they were also the 7th ranked defense
So if you have a roster with

19/6/4
18/5/7
19/4/4
11/9/2
Lockdown defender

Please don't ever call that some "Effect" Sam Presti had just as much impact on them then Chris Paul....
Last one is the most recent one the Suns

This one is by far the easiest to debunk

Starting with the fact the suns were 8-0 in the bubble without there 3rd best player it's clear they were heading in the right direction in spite of cp3
The addition of jaw Crowder was huge he helped turn a 17th ranked D into a top 5 defense in the NBA one of the biggest stories of the season for Phoenix is the growth of mikal bridges he improved drastically

This part shouldn't be hard to understand considering how easy it is
End of thread hope this helped you understand that the cp3effect is the most fraudulent and fakest thing in basketball
