One of the worst parts of being autistic is saying something very blunt and direct that NT's find offensive but you genuinely didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings in the slightest, so now you hate yourself for doing so. 😟

I hate the feeling of knowing I hurt someone, especially when I never meant to in the first place.

Often times when conversing with other autistic people, we tend to not care so much about being blunt with one another. But to NT's it can be hurtful, and I sorta understand why.
Many just dismiss it as "being an asshole" but it's more complicated than that.

Autistic people don't understand any of these complex social cues that NT's use, so we usually just resort to directly stating what we think. It's not inconsiderate, it's a lack of understanding.
