THREAD: On May 1, 2021, I’m deleting my Twitter account. Here’s why:

• Lately I’ve been asking God for discernment in every area of my life — for the opening & closing of the right doors at the right time. Graduating from FGCU marks the end of an important chapter in my life & there are things I just want to leave in the past.

• I’ve been blessed w/ the opportunity to continue my education as a candidate for an ALM in Extension Studies, History at Harvard & I want to put 100% into it. That doesn’t mean I’ll be off social media entirely, but it does mean I need to reevaluate my priorities.

• A big influence on my rejoining Twitter back in October was a relationship I no longer want any reminders of. I spoke my peace & offered my forgiveness quite a while ago — now I want that dead weight off my shoulders.

• Twitter in general has become less of a social platform & more of a conduit for vitriolic, worldly hatred which I refuse to have any association with. It’s far healthier for me to wake up every day thanking the Lord instead of being drawn into this labyrinth of negativity.

Until May 1, this thread will remain pinned to my profile so my friends who don’t frequent Twitter might have a chance to see it. I’m ceasing any further activity on this platform starting today — if you need me you can find me on Facebook.
