The curfew DOES have negative impacts on marginalized groups like undocumented immigrants and sex workers. Being controlled by the police can really impact the livelihood of these people who are often not included when policies are imposed for the safety of the majority.

But this is not who y'all thought of at the last protest. Y’all were thinking about yourselves just like you did the last couple of months. Hence the reasons why we barely see any change in this situation.

None of y’alls rights are being violated. But you know who keeps having their rights violated over and over again? The prisoners y’all keep comparing yourselves to, who can not social distance and because of that, are dropping like flies.

Other people who didn’t catch a single break? Health care workers, who have not rested since the beginning of the pandemic, who have BEGGED us to be careful. But all we do is dehumanize them, call them heroes all while not respecting them and their wishes.

And we hope that you all understand that every single time y'all say to open everything, arguing that "the strongest will survive", you tell every vulnerable person in your surroundings, that you don't care if they survive this pandemic or don’t, as long as you do.

This message also applies to performative activists. The women empowerers, the BLM supporters, mental health advocates, who have continuously violated the rules and made the pandemic harder for the same groups they supposedly support.

It’s “black lives matter” until it’s time for y’all to attend packed parties and gatherings, where you actively participate in the increase of cases that will directly affect our health care workers made up of thousands of black immigrant women.

It’s “POC solidarity” until it’s time to travel to poorer countries during a global pandemic for LEISURE and put the lives of the black and brown residents at risk. Some who don’t have the privilege of having good medical care if they get sick.

It’s “support all women” until y’all’s behaviour is the reason covid cases are increasing and women are being stuck home with their abusers, resulting in femicide cases being at an all time high.

There are people living alone, struggling with mental health problems and have followed all the rules for the past year. When y’all act like clowns during a pandemic all in the name of “mental health” do you take a second to think about those people?

Y’all lack empathy and are selfish. Our government is trash but frankly, y’all are too.
