just had this jarring realization that eternally mv can be interpreted as a portrayal of how txt dealt w the aftermath of doom
quick disclaimer that these are all just assumptions lol, im not very good at theorizing so take this thread w a grain of salt
soobin: finding closure

it only hit me now that the blurry background sb walks into, could be him going through old memories.

which explains why everything is blurred, bc when we normally recall certain memories, we don& #39;t see the whole picture, just the important bits.
the only time he sees things clearly is when he arrives a specific point of the area, where he meets the kid.

the background isn& #39;t a entirely clear but it& #39;s also more fleshed out compared to before.

everything within that circle is vivid. anythin beyond that are just fragments.
the reason why im starting to think that sb is reliving a memory is bc once he& #39;s inside the path of grass, the background turns into an abyss of darkness.

it makes him look like he& #39;s stranded on an island of a memory while being surrounded by a shroud of darkness.
at the same time, the ghost of a lady is seen coming out of the darkness.

she& #39;s seen walking towards him and kneeling in front of him for a hug.

it& #39;s at that moment that the background slowly returns and fills out the darkness with light.

usually when people have
found closure, they describe it as having "found light."

yj: accepting d**th

it& #39;s obvious to us that he& #39;s no longer alive, but it seems like he personally didn& #39;t know that he was demoted from alive to unalive— which sucks tbh
kidding aside, the build up of him seeing his body is executed in a way that he& #39;s suddenly transported in this empty place and a bright light points at him.

at which point he literally /walks towards the light/ which is a euphemism for ppl moving to the afterlife.
throughout his entire segment, yj seems to be confused and wondering where he is.

once he goes outside, he doesn& #39;t seem to question the destruction around him; rather he seems to be more confused as to why he& #39;s there.

when he finds his body amidst the debris, it& #39;s the only time
his face is schooled into a more neutral disposition.

yj seems to be void of any other emotion too. he just looks on, almost as if things are making sense.
beomgyu: repressed memories

so my take on bg& #39;s segment is that it& #39;s a representation of him facing his repressed memories abt doom.

the multiple mirrors might be symbolism for him not knowing what& #39;s real and what& #39;s made up, but im not too certain abt that specific part.
the scene with the door is quite more telling tho.

the door towers over him and is easily noted to be intimidating. the angles used in the scenes emphasizes how small he is next to it.

ig we can infer that this is the door that hides his repressed memory abt the event.
"but the door opened easily when he turned the knob; that doesn& #39;t seem like it& #39;s repressed."

true. but there& #39;s also a door chain that limits how much he& #39;s able to see inside.

i think he& #39;s able to open his door bc of his growing curiosity but his mind& #39;s limiting what he sees.
when beomgyu takes a peek inside, he sees another version of himself desperately clutching at a book to keep it away from an unseen figure.

the other bg seems to be fighting to the book from being taken, which imo can be interpreted as him fighting to keep sth hidden.
it isn& #39;t until the end that we see the other bg grow monstrous features.

im still not too certain abt this part, but atm im theorizing that it& #39;s a darker part of himself that his mind is also trying to repress.
taehyun: the optimist; denial

i think among the 5 of them, taehyun was the one who had most hope about the group getting back tgt again.

in his segment, his disposition almost immediately changes from confused to happy once he catches a glimpse of yj from afar.
his disposition remains happy, and it isn& #39;t until he gets a really good look at yj and confirming that the older has passed, that the smile drops from his face.

the look that replaces the smile on his face is one of disbelief and sadness.
hyuka: ???

there& #39;s part of me that thinks the kid in sb& #39;s segment isn& #39;t actually hyuka. but then again, i haven& #39;t rlly thought this far for all segments in the eternally mv.
part of me thinks that the kid is merely a representation of sb mourning hyuka& #39;s lost childhood(?)

either that or,, hyuka passed earlier on in his life and that the hyuka we see in the last segment is what he would& #39;ve been had been able to grow up.
which might explain why hyuka opens the doors first and why the rest of txt enter through a different door.
anw, im prolly just overanalyzing things and im not sure if any of this makes sense https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🧍‍♀️" title="Stehende Frau" aria-label="Emoji: Stehende Frau">

i just had to write this all down so that i could make sense of my thoughts lmao
