On issues from public safety to housing, education to recovery, progressive positions are now the clear center of the party.

First and importantly: when asked to rank qualities NYC Dems want in mayoral candidates, "strong policy plans" wins by a mile.

Now let& #39;s look at what kinds of policies they want...

*53%* of NYC Dems prefer candidates who will move significant budget & responsibilities away from the NYPD.

Only 24% are opposed.

Taking donations from developers would make 66% of NYC Dems less likely to vote for a candidate.

For 43%, *significantly* less!

69% of NYC Dems want a city where no one pays more than 30% of their income for housing.

For 41%, such a plan would make them *significantly* more likely to vote for a candidate.

62% of NYC Dems are more likely to vote for candidates who pledge serious action to desegregate our schools, with only 18% preferring the segregated status quo.

85% want free education from pre-K to #FreeCUNY

63% of NYC Dems want a recovery that prioritizes working ppl & small biz over corporations - even when the question is phrased negatively.

74% of NYC Dems think Wall St & private equity have too much power in our city.

63% want candidates who will fight for higher taxes on the wealthy, with only 20% opposed.
