Homes are unaffordable because they cost too much, and the way to fix that is for them to cost less.
Steve Clark's enthusiastic use of MZOs is not the housing policy reform I think Ontario needs, but the Tories are at least starting from a coherent theory of what's wrong in Ontario's housing market and using the levers at hand in a way that matches theory.
Mainstram Canadian progressives* lack a coherent theory about what's wrong in the housing market and so cannot make the next step of coming up with an actual policy to meet the problem head-on.
