Please. Just leave Black people the fuck alone today.
If we kick it don’t be extra.
If I want to talk about it I’ll bring it up.
If you have a Black person in your life that you normally interact with?

Support them in a way where you don’t have to ask them to make a decision harder than yes or no.
All weekend I’m deciding

what I’ll say
who to say it to
If it matters
Am I wasting my time
Should I feel away about that if public venting & commiseration is the only mental health I can afford

do the kids need me more
or worse are they desensitized

are they safe here
Just do some simple gesture yawl.

Take Keisha to lunch.
Bring Devon some coffee.
Ask Sharon out for drinks on you.

Send me potted African Violets.
Give some Black people some money.

Random ones but also the ones you believe in.
Under the weight of all this?

Some of us are out here getting graduate degrees.

Starting businesses.

Founding organizations.

Doing the news coverage that advances our community instead of careers.
Volunteer. Support Black people.

Start a mutual aid thread.

Start a discussion on social then take offline action too.
Just. Give us the processing day.

This is one of those rare times where you actually know about the traumas we’re living through.
And for me? I would rather not be out upon to explain myself.
We can’t call in Black, most of us.

Give us a little space.

Extend us a bit if Grace.
