EYE REDNESS

Here's how you would know which is which and handle easily.

Red eye is mostly due to swollen or dilated blood vessels in the eye making the eye look red.

There are many causes, some are medical emergencies others are a cause for concern, but not an emergency.

Red eyes can develop suddenly or over time. Eye drops are helpful in many cases. If the redness is not easing up & is accompanied by other symptoms, you should see a doctor.

Eye injuries, contact lenses, and frequent use of eye drops can all cause irritation leading to red eyes.
Eyes may be red due to:

*Eye dryness
*Too much sun exposure
*Dust or other particles in the eye
*Allergies
*Infection
*Injury
*Eye infections
*Colds or allergies
*Acute glaucoma
*Corneal scratches from Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses.
Home Care

Try to rest your eyes if redness is due to fatigue or eye strain.

If you have eye pain or a vision problem, call your eye doctor right away.
Other treatment options include, eye drops, antibiotics, creams, and oral medications.

Most conditions are readily treatable and, if caught early, do not cause any permanent long-term damage.
