PLEASE stop putting your favorite artists on a pedestal. (A thread)
It's natural to have favorites, to hype their work and wish them success, but NEVER forget that you don't actually know them in real life. They could be amazing or shitty people or something in between, but YOU DON'T KNOW THEM.
Take care of your own mental health and avoid heartbreak by projecting your own idealized version of someone.
Remember artists are people who simply have more online visibility and usually are extremely good looking. It doesn't mean they have less flaws or are better than any of the real people you do know.
While it's great to love your artists' works, also remind yourself to love yourself and take the time to love the people around you, the ones who actually interact with you on a personal level.
So when a "scandal" breaks out, take it for what it is: random information that may be false or partially true or whatever about someone you don't actually know. (End of Thread)
