Zambian politics has never been about economic policies, social change etc. Someone pointed out that the PF and UPND had similar economic polices (back in 2016, I’m not sure). Mini thread:

When the PF was the opposition party against the MMD, Sata was ruthless towards Mwanawasa. He called him a cabbage multiple times & The Post backed him.

The UPND has adopted this ferocious attack policy and HH is told he has no real plan for the country aside from opposing PF. Fair criticism honestly.

However, a lot of people’s criticisms of HH are the same things that got Sata into power. So when people call him bitter what do they mean? He is not a man of the people? What do you mean. I think they mean he is not Bemba. He is not a man of the specific group of people.

This makes me sad for two reasons. 1. I want our economy to improve, I want better for our people. We need to improve our standard of living.

2. I want us to get over tribalism. It is keeping people in power who just want to loot, steal and destroy.
It breaks my heart.

Even the most educated people fall short of saying they don’t like him because of his tribe. I hope we as a nation can move forward from this nonsense.
