Yesterday I went on a trip with a group of deaf friends.
A Special Education teacher with her two deaf children joined us.
Not only did she referred to them as "mute", but she got furious when I signed in front of her saying: "btw, God created me with the ability to speak!" 1/

She also spoke in a very ablesit way of her disabled students
How can someone like her be a typical ableist if not worse?
She doesn't know any sign language, thinks of signed languages as inferior to spoken ones, and oralist AF w/ her children who are clearly language deprived 2/

FFS someone test Special Education teachers for ableism before hiring them!!!
Ableism and language deprivation are no joke!! Especially coming from parents and teachers!!
THIS IS CHILD ABUSE!!!
