Currently, in Iran, members of the Baha'i Faith are facing unjust persecutions daily. The Baha'i Faith is a major world religion and is the second most followed religion in Iran following Islam. Its history reaches back to 1844.

Since then, members of the Baha’i community in Iran have been subjected to unwarranted arrests, false imprisonment, beatings, tortue, unjustified executions, confiscation and destruction of property, denial of employment, denial of government benefits, denial of civil rights and

liberties, and denial of access to higher education. The origins of the persecution stem from a variety of Baháʼí teachings which are inconsistent with traditional Islamic beliefs, including the placement of Baháʼís outside the Islamic faith.

After the revolution in Iran, the government focused on persecuting Baha’is, with many imprisoned, killed, expelled, fired, and denied marriage registration. Additionally, three Baha’i holy sights were demolished.

An example of this persecution is the story of Mona Mahmudnizhad, a 17-year-old girl who lived in Iran and was executed in 1983. She was arrested after government officials broke into her home and detained her for teaching children's classes. Mona has volunteered at an orphanage

since she was 12 years old and was an outspoken defender of human rights. She was charged for things that ranged from 'misleading children and youth' to be a 'Zionist'.

Baha'is in Iran are still being persecuted and tortured today, with no sign of this ending. Many petitions have been taken down by the Iranian government and outspoken people have been silenced, arrested, and killed.

Please help to spread awareness about the issue and educate yourself on the topic. It is not easy to recommend any petitions since most have been restricted. However, I will try to update this thread with more information in the future.
