Kinda feel like Sonic games are on their way out, as in, SEGA is giving up on them as a viable part of Sonic as a brand. With how successful they've been with all their other game series as of late, Sonic games likely just seem like a money pit to them.

I feel like Forces was the first step in this direction, and all future titles will be small, budget titles that are released few and far between until the eventually phase them out completely.

Instead I think Sonic will simply become a multimedia franchise. Just cartoons, comics, merch, and shallow mobile games.
