The US reported +276 new coronavirus deaths today, which I believe is the lowest number since March 2020, bringing the total to 575,829. The 7-day moving average declined to 755 deaths per day, its lowest level since October 18.
The US had +47,864 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total to over 31.9 million. The 7-day moving average remains above 68,000 new cases per day.
15 US states had over 1,000 new cases today. New York led the pack with over 6,000 new cases, followed by Florida with over 5,000. However, Michigan, which had ranked high in cases recently, did not report.
New hospital admissions in the US due to COVID-19 have risen +6.6% over the past week.
The number of people hospitalized in the US due to COVID-19 is up +3.8% over the past week.
The positive test rate in the US has inched back up to 5.1%.
The US administered 3.6 million vaccine shots today, bringing the total to 187 million, or 56.3 doses per 100 people. The 7-day moving average rose to 3.14 million shots per day.
45.9% of American adults have received at least one shot; 28.1% are now fully vaccinated.

78.5% of Americans over age 65 have received at least one shot; 61.4% are now fully vaccinated.
