A small but meaningful detail in Attack on Titan is that after season 3, Eren no longer bites his hand to transform

let me explain with a thread

During seasons 1-3, it was very clear that most of Eren’s actions were based on emotion. He basically worked on instincts and guts to get the job done.

The hand bite symbolized that as Eren describes it as an instinct. His go-to move.

after the Time-Skip, Eren changed drastically. Instead of being a bundle of emotions, he becomes cold in his facade. He becomes clever and more collected.

He’s no longer working on just instincts, he’s more in control.

The removing of the hand bite helps represent this as he becomes more tactical. Rather with the instinctual Hand-Bite, he cuts his hand instead.

This gives him more options and time to play his cards right.

its a nice part of eren’s development that I really like since it’s minuscule but holds a lot of impact, since Eren’s Hand-Bite was so iconic.
