This is so funny and speaks to your complete lack of knowledge on the hanbok and casual hanbok industry. As someone who actively supports hanbok makers and casual hanbok brands, what an awful take. https://twitter.com/askakorean/status/1381390534862893057
There are many casual hanbok brands that have English storefronts and ship internationally - which are perfect for 2nd gen diaspora Koreans looking to for everyday wear hanbok. I highly rec places like Leesle, Dailyhan, Wayyu, and Teterot Salon if you don’t speak Korean.
If you speak Korean, you can literally contact hanbokmakers directly via Kakaotak or order via proxy services. The fact that you couldn’t find nice hanbok for your child is literally a you problem?
The idea that wearing hanbok in every day life is “self-orientalizatiob” by Kor-Ams is like laughable specifically because there’s a thriving casual hanbok industry IN KOREA led by Korean-Koreans. Unless OP’s trying to tell me that Koreans in Korea are also guilty of this lmao
Oh no, better tell my hanbokmaker to cancel my recent order because some dude on the internet said I’m fetishizing myself damn!!
Anyway - If you’re 2nd gen - don’t listen to this dude. Wear what you want. The simplest way to avoid “bad” hanbok - and trust me I know my hanbok - is to order from trusted Korean sources instead of ordering off Amazon (which often has hanboks w/ incorrect garment construction).
The sites I mentioned above are wonderful for casual everyday wear - but if you need something more traditional - I recommend going to Instagram and looking at the 한복 tags to see if you can find a hanbokmaker that works for you. You can order via Kakaotalk w/ them!
My favorites are Moranavi Hanbok (모란나비 한복) and Arang Hanbok (청춘한복아랑) for more traditional cuts!

This way, not only do you get to connect with your cultural roots but you also get to financially support artisans in the hanbok industry - who WANT you to buy from them.
If you need someone who speaks English, @CHohng is a Korean American hanbokmaker who would be more than happy to create a custom hanbok look for you.

Actively supporting the hanbok industry helps keep Korean traditions alive which is more than what OP is doing!
한복에 대해 티끌만큼도 모르면서 “2세 교포들이 한복 입는거 부끄럽다”란 식으로 비난하는건 뭐람??? 지랄하시지 말고 남이 뭘 입든 신경끄고 사세요~
