Anyway I hate the whole “food as medicine” rhetoric because:

1) getting the food in question is so inaccessible due to sourcing and pricing

2) many medical conditions limit the foods someone can digest

3) needing a medicine is not a moral failure
There are medical conditions that you cannot cure and that is OKAY.

Not “have you tried organic”

Not “have you eliminated sugar”

Not “have you gone vegan”

Food cannot cure the incurable.
Your quinoa is not better than my antidepressants.

Your kale is not better than someone’s feeding tube.

Your bulletproof coffee is not better than someone’s anti-rejection medication after an organ transplant.
Needing medicine is not a bad thing.

Needing a pill to be able to focus, or a prescription to improve your digestion, or chemo to survive is not a bad thing.

Illness is not a moral failing. Chronic illness, acute illness, lifelong or brand new illnesses are not a failure.
