idc how many times i gotta say it. mika has no attachment to the squad and they truly gave him no reason to. all the squad [specifically narumi] did was antagonize mika the minute he stepped foot in their dynamic. i wouldnt care about people if they were assholes to me either
mika has done everything for the squad and they dont care nor even acknowledge the benefits mika has given them, only that hes a vampire who cant be trusted, narumi is especially rude with this and it makes me wanna punch him in the throat
ik mika was the one keeping watch every night. finding their food and killing it, killing horsemen, being the most powerful on the battlefield, not using up resources ie blankets food water etc. all he did was drink blood and say guren was bad and they antagonized him. i hate it
im sick of seeing ppl say the squad were nice to mika when they totally werent. they developed a very turbulent understanding that the other wasnt going anywhere but they didnt feel deeply. and the squads reaction to his death is proof of that
mika was trying to be polite and kind to them and the responded with “how long until your feelings for you disappear” no one asked traumatized mika if he wanted to be part of their family. they asked how long until they would turn against his soulmate. the one person he cared for
never understood the hostility and where it came from because i would beg mika to take care of yuu if i was someone in the shinoa squad because yuu would only listen to mika and care about him.
mika would do a better job caring for yuu than anyone else on the team bc he doesnt do it out of obligation but out of love and dedication. and mika never once would betray yuu for everything like kimizuji once said he would betray everyone in the squad [yuu included] for mirai
and if i was actually anyone in the squad who had a crush on yuu i would treat mika like a prince because i would know that mika is caring for him more than i could. it just, ugh, rubs me the wrong way.
